Medical Emergency Air Evacuation Options

Why do I need a Membership

On Shaw Island, access to emergency medical care often depends on air transportation. It happens more frequently than you might expect.    If a serious illness or injury occurs, especially when rapid transport to a hospital on the mainland is medically necessary, an air ambulance may be the fastest or only practical option.

The cost of an air medical transport can asily run $30,000 to $50,000+, and even with insurance, deductibles, coinsurance, or coverage limitations it can leave a patient with a significant bill.  For a relatively small annual membership fee, a Life Flight and/or Airlift NW membership can protect against those potentially substantial out-of-pocket costs.

And while Medicare supplements and Medicaid may cover part of your costs, you should always verify directly with your insurance if you have questions.
